Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion is a Commissioned Ministry. Individuals assist the priest in distributing Holy Communion under both species to parishioners during the Mass. Commitment depends on the number of participants.

Sacristans
Sacristans provide the care and upkeep of the sanctuary and prepare the environment for Mass, Baptisms, and other worship services. Duties include setting out the vessels and elements of bread and wine before Mass, as well as cleaning up after Mass. It may also include setting up Baptismal oils and supplies and cleaning up after Baptisms. Commitment depends on the number of participants.
Lectors
Lay readers who deliver Scripture readings, intercessions, and introductory comments during Sunday and Holiday Masses. Commitment depends on the number of participants.
Servers
Servers assist the celebrant before, during, and after the Mass. Servers may also be asked to help with special liturgies, such as Stations of the Cross and Penance Services, etc. Commitment depends on the number of participants.
Ushers
Create a welcoming environment during weekend and Holiday liturgies, assist with seating parishioners, take up collections, and pass out information at Mass. Ushers work on four-person teams and work every third month (i.e., four times a year for a month at a time). We are looking for substitutes for all times.
Liturgical Environment
Assists in the planning of all aspects of the liturgical year and enhances the spiritual environment for the celebration of the Sacraments. Meets monthly, consists of the individual ministry’s coordinators, generally serving a two-year term.
Altar Linens and Server Albs Launder and iron the altar linens at home, between Tuesday and Friday each week. Commitment is dependent on the size of our committee. Contact Fran McCauley at 913.451.3093 to volunteer.
Environment Create, through seasonal décor and design, a spiritual environment which helps to lead the parish to fuller participation in the celebration of the Liturgy and Sacraments. Responsibilities include periodic receiving and watering of floral plant arrangements, installing/maintaining textiles, and assisting in the preparation and storage of Easter, Christmas, Lent, and Advent decorations. Altar Society Give glory to God through the maintenance of the interior of our Church and Adoration Chapel. Includes, but is not limited to, the dusting of pews, the sanctuary, and the sacristy. Commitment is 1-2 hours per month.
Society of Siena Following the example of St. Catherine of Siena, the Society of Siena gives our young people hands-on ways to learn, create, and help build a parish rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty.
